Google Cloud unveils isolated microVM infrastructure for AI agents
- Event
- Published

Google Cloud announced Agent Compute Engine, a managed service that gives each agent a hardware-isolated microVM with persistent storage, short-lived identity and credentials injected outside the sandbox. It already underpins Google workloads, but customer preview is only targeted for the coming months and pricing is undisclosed.
Why it matters
Purpose-built agent runtimes could make long-lived coding and browser agents safer and more resource-efficient, but customers cannot yet test Google’s managed service.
