A3 says North American companies ordered 10,989 robots worth $723.5 million in Q3, up 24.8% in units and 26.1% in value from a year earlier. Automotive-component orders rose 90.4% and cobot orders about 56%, but the figures track orders rather than installations, production output or realized productivity.

Why it matters

The order mix suggests automation demand is broadening beyond automotive OEMs into components, electronics, life sciences, plastics and metals.
